Stream Definition

Logistics is the management and the integration of the material flow and the information flow between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet requirements of customers. Considering industrial logistics are included all the activities related to the production of industrial goods: inbound logistics, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, material handling, assembly, packaging, distribution and outbound logistics.
The complexity of industrial logistics, due to its systematic structure and to the great number of variables involved drive researcher and practitioners to model and to optimise the design and management of the logistic systems.
The minimization of the use of resources, the maximisation of the efficiency, the minimisation of the lead times, are just some example of objectives.
The novel and high quality papers investigating the Industrial Logistics Optimization in Design and Management should include, but not be limited to, innovative methodologies and tools,  new real-world cases study, innovative optimised technologies applied in the Industrial Logistics.
Papers should present original research outputs that have not been  published or considered for publication. Manuscripts with real-world novel applications  are welcome from practitioners and researchers.
Contributions should include (but  not limited to), the following research themes:
Optimization of  the design and management of:

  • Inbound Logistics
  • Transportation
  • Warehousing
  • Material handling
  • Manufacturing and Assembly System
  • Distribution and outbound logistics.
