Bios

 Thomas Monks

Thomas Monks is a Senior Research Fellow in Operational Research in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southampton.  He leads NIHR CLAHRC Wessex’s methodological hub.  He holds a BSc(Hons) in Computer Science and Mathematics, MSc in Operational Research and PhD in Simulation Modelling. He has worked as a Software Engineer in the private sector, an Operational Research modeller within the public sector and a healthcare modeller at University of Exeter Medical School. His specialty is simulation of healthcare systems of unscheduled and emergency care.  He is co-chair of the UK Simulation Workshop 2016 and co-chair of the UK simulation special interest group.  His email address is thomas.monks@soton.ac.uk

 Christine Currie

Christine Currie is Associate Professor of Operational Research in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton, UK, where she also obtained her Ph.D. She is Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Simulation.

Christine was co-chair of the Simulation Special Interest Group in the UK Operational Research Society until September 2013. Her research interests include mathematical modelling of epidemics, Bayesian statistics, revenue management, variance reduction methods and optimization of simulation models.  Her email address is Christine.Currie@soton.ac.uk

 

Anastasia Anagnostou

Anastasia Anagnostou is a Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science, Brunel University London. She holds a BSc(Hons) in Electronics Engineering, an MSc in Telemedicine and e-Health Systems, and a PhD in Distributed Modelling & Simulation. Her research interests lie in the areas of Contemporary Computer Infrastructures for Modelling and Simulation, Hybrid Distributed Simulation, and Healthcare Pathways Modelling and Simulation. Katy Hoad

Katy Hoad is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Operational Research and Management Science in the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick.  She holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, MSc in Statistics and PhD in Disease Modelling. She teaches statistical analysis, foundation mathematics, discrete event simulation and business forecasting on both undergraduate and post graduate courses. Her research interests lie in discrete event simulation output analysis and experimentation. She was co-chair of the UK simulation special interest group for many years. She is co-programme chair of the UK Simulation Workshop 2016 and her email address is kathryn.hoad@wbs.ac.uk

Martin Kunc

Martin Kunc is Associate Professor of Management Science at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. He has a PhD in Decision Science from the University of London. Anastasia Gogi

Anastasia Gogi is a PhD student in Simulation Practice in the School of Business and Economics, Loughborough University. She holds a BSc in Industrial Management and an MSc in Management Sciences. She has worked as a business analyst in the private sector. Her research interests lie in the use of simulation in the areas of facilitated modelling and decision-making.
