Kuangyi Liu

Kuangyi has a doctorate degree in Management Science from the University of Edinburgh. She was once a teaching fellow in the ORMS group, Warwick Business School, before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) LLP as a management consultant. Kuangyi now holds an analytical role in the pharmaceutical industry, specialising in decision analysis, risk modelling and simulation. Kuangyi has been an active member of the OR Society since she was a PhD student, and is passionate about the application of both hard and soft ORMS techniques to inform decision making in all sectors.

 

Tom Baldwin

Tom is a Principal Consultant with Polaris Consulting, where he specialises in applying operational analysis to a range of defence problems for government and industry clients. This includes problem structuring methods, simulation modelling, multi-criteria decision analysis and business case support. Tom regularly collaborates with academia including the University of Portsmouth’s Centre for OR and Logistics. Tom is an Associate of the OR Society and has presented at ISMOR and the OR Society’s Defence Special Interest Group. Tom previously worked at Dstl and SIMUL8 Corp., following OR degrees at Lancaster and Strathclyde universities.

 

Kim Moxey

Kim Moxey is an operational researcher with the UK civil service. She has worked within OR for around two years and started her OR career with the Ministry of Justice in the Forecasting, Modelling and Development Unit. She refined a court listing model to help improve the efficiency of the courts and also on prison reform. Kim has been working on Student Loans with the UK Government Investments department but is now working on regulatory matters for the government’s Regulatory Policy Committee.

 

Anastasia Gogi

Anastasia will soon be graduating from Loughborough University with a doctorate degree in Operational Research. She is currently working for the University as a Research Associate member of the Management Science and Operations Management Group using facilitated simulation modelling to evaluate Integrated Care Services, in collaboration with Leicestershire County Council. Her research interests lie in the use of simulation in the areas of facilitated modelling and visual decision practices.  Anastasia is the Keynote Papers Editor for the Young to OR 20 Conference.  Her email address is a.gogi@lboro.ac.uk

 

Kevis Pachos

Kevis Pachos is a PhD student in ‘In Supply-Demand Resource Allocation under Uncertainty’, in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University College London. He holds an MSc in Management Sciences. He has worked as an operational research analyst in the private sector. His current research is focused on using operational research approaches as well as evolutionary based optimisation algorithms to solve water network distribution system, capacity expansion problem under uncertainty. His email address is kevispachos@gmail.com

 

Louise Maynard-Atem

Louise is currently a Consultant with BAE Systems - CORDA, where she uses a range of hard and soft operational research techniques to solve internal (to BAE Systems) and external defence problems. Louise is an active member of the Operational Research Society and writes the Young to OR column in the Society’s newsletter, Inside OR. Louise has also helped to organise a number of other Society conferences including the OR58 – Making an Impact day and the defence stream from YOR19. Louise completed several chemistry degrees at Nottingham and Manchester universities before making the transition to operational research as part of the Civil Service OR fast stream.
