This course will help you understand how to deal with ‘Black Swans’, ‘Grey Swans’, ‘White Swans’ and ‘Grey People’. This course is particularly aimed at all those concerned with O.R. modelling, designing or optimising the efficiency of business/organisational Systems or involved in management, as well as those O.R. theorists who want to lead the next generation of thinking.

The five main things the delegates will learn by attending the course are:

  • What are Black Swans?
  • How do they effect things?
  • The shortfalls in our traditional decision models.
  • Managing in the presence of Black Swans.
  • Modelling Black Swans and intervening in the system.

This course will make use of a variety of training methods, including interactive plenary presentations, group discussions and individual and group exercises. You will improve your understanding of managing strategies for ‘Swans’, covering modelling, optimisation, and prevention, as well as your understanding of the next steps, and the Do’s and Don’t’s.
