Join The UK System Dynamics Society Annual Conference

By guest author, Peter Lacey, President of the UK Chapter of the System Dynamics Society 2020/21.

System Dynamics is a powerful way to understand why important factors in the world around us change over time as they do and what can be done to improve them. The UK System Dynamics Chapter is holding its annual conference on 26 May 2021. We have got a great line-up of speakers and opportunities to engage in conversation and learning about System Dynamics and Systems Thinking. The event costs £20 to attend, and all the details can be found at https://bit.ly/3sDHLSZ

A particular theme of the event is around the contribution of System Dynamics to recovery and rebuilding, looking forward rather than back. The line-up includes five presentations from expert practitioners, including a talk from Jack Snape from Transport for the North on understanding the role of transport connectivity in levelling up the north of England. Other presentations will cover transportation megaprojects, telecommunications infrastructure investments, the use of space in Thamesmead and modelling the impact of COVID-19 on care.

Student contributions are embedded within the programme and include posters and our annual student prize – both of which now open for entries.

For anyone new to System Dynamics, there’s also a free additional session on 25 May between 4-6:30 pm led by Kim Warren, who will ensure you’re introduced to the approach's fundamentals! Previous participants have given very appreciative and positive feedback from these sessions in the past, so if that’s for you, please sign up separately here. https://bit.ly/3miJefv

We look forward to seeing you in the virtual space.
