Designing Equitable Climate and Health Policies through Systems Thinking
In this webinar, Dr. Koko Zhou presents on behalf of the Systems Thinking Team from the Policy and Implementation for Climate & Health Equity (PAICE) project, exploring cross-sectoral interactions between climate mitigation and adaptation strategies.
The UK Government has pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 68% by 2030 under the Paris Agreement. In PAICE, the team works with the UK Committee on Climate Change to apply systems thinking and participatory approaches to deepen this grand challenge. This presentation shares key insights from the transport, building, energy, and food sectors—highlighting how their interconnections impact health equity. The cross-sectoral insights aim to support integrated systems policies that address both mitigation and adaptation goals, emphasizing the critical role of health in achieving a just and effective transition to net zero. The discussion will be joined by Dr Irene Pluchinotta and Professor Nici Zimmermann from the team.
