The Operational Research Society is inviting interested parties to submit a 2-page motivation letter and a CV for consideration to join the editorial team for the Society’s Health Systems Journal (HS).
This journal promotes the idea that all aspects of health and healthcare delivery can be viewed from a systems perspective meaning that health and healthcare systems are characterized by complexity and interconnectedness. The international journal is currently co-edited jointly by Full Professors Samir Chatterjee, Ann Fruhling, Daniel Gartner, and Kathy Kotiadis, splitting the responsibilities equally between Health Information Technology, Healthcare Information Systems, Healthcare Operational Research, and Health Systems Thinking. There is a growing team of an already diverse and multidisciplinary set of over twenty-five area editors in place.
Professor Kathy Kotiadis will be stepping down having completed her five-year term in early 2025. We are most grateful for her service to the journal and how she has broadened its impact, quality, reach, and influence. Now, we are seeking a suitable replacement to start in March/April 2025. We would be particularly interested to receive applications from candidates in the field of Healthcare Operational Research (OR) with knowledge of Soft OR/ Problem Structuring Methods, Behavioural Operational Research, and Facilitated Modelling.
The successful candidate will be expected to have worked in the field of the journal’s interest to embrace both the theoretical and practical aspects of OR in healthcare. The editor should demonstrate a clear understanding of the journal’s aims and have constructive ideas on its future development to meet the challenges and needs of the subject and the Society.
The appointment is an initial period of five years, potentially renewable beyond that. There are plans for a transitional period. An honorarium is paid to the co-editor.
