Travel by rail

Birmingham New Street is well-served by trains from all parts of the country. 12 Edward Street is about 0.75km (0.8 mile) from the station.

Please be aware that Birmingham city centre is undergoing major re-generation and there is a lot of building work going on around the station and along the route to our office.

Each platform at Birmingham New Street is divided into an 'a' and 'b' end, e.g. Platform 6 is divided into 6a and 6b. When alighting from the train, walk towards the ‘b’ end of the platform. There are 2 exits from this end of the platform, one where the ‘a’ and ‘b’ platforms meet in the middle and one at the extreme end of the ‘b’ platform. Either exit will bring you out onto the main concourse. From the main concourse follow the exit signs for Victoria Square. You will walk past Boots and Greggs when heading towards this exit.

Walking from the station (about 10 minutes). Each platform at Birmingham New Street is divided into an 'a' end and a 'b' end, eg Platform 6 is divided into 6a and 6b. Leave the station by the exits marked 'Way out Victoria Square', which you will find a short distance from the extreme 'b' end of the platform (see map). On leaving the station, follow the directions on the map shown.

Taking a taxi (about the same time as walking, due to the pedestrianisation of the central area taxis have to go a long way round). On leaving the station by the Victoria Square exit, the taxi rank is located along Navigation Street, to the left of the Victoria Square exit.

Travel by road

Follow the signs for Birmingham (Central) and then follow National Indoor Arena (NIA). It is best to use the NIA North Car Park (Pay & display) which is situated in King Edwards Road, very close to 12 Edward Street (see top left of map).

Notes:

  1. Allow plenty of time. Roads into central Birmingham are likely to be congested, severely so at peak periods. Severe congestion is common also on the M6 in the West Midlands.
  2. Sections of the NIA car parks are reserved for short stay visitors. You need to park in an area appropriate to your length of stay.
  3. Although there is security at the NIA car parks, there are infrequent instances of car crime. Visitors park at their own risk.

Travel by air

On arrival at Birmingham International Airport, take the people-mover from Terminal 1 (which is immediately adjacent to Terminal 2) to Birmingham International railway station, from where there is a frequent service to Birmingham New Street (journey time 10 to 15 minutes). On arrival at Birmingham New Street, follow the directions above for travel by rail.
