Anastasia Anagnostou is a Lecturer in Computer Science, Department of Computer Science, Brunel University London. She is Deputy Director of the Modelling & Simulation Group in Brunel and her research interests lie in the areas of Advanced Computer Infrastructures for Modelling and Simulation, Open Science for Simulation, Hybrid Distributed Simulation and Modelling and Simulation for Healthcare and Industrial Applications. She holds a BSc(Hons) in Electronics Engineering, an MSc in Telemedicine and e-Health Systems, and a PhD in Distributed Modelling & Simulation. She has been involved in several interdisciplinary research projects with stakeholders from industry and academia across manufacturing, healthcare, defense and food supply chains. Antuela Tako is a Reader in Operational Research at the School of Business and Economics, Loughborough University. She holds a PhD in Simulation and an MSc in Management Science and Operational Research from the University of Warwick. Her research interests include the comparison of simulation approaches (discrete-event simulation and system dynamics), facilitated and participative simulation modelling, conceptual modelling and health care modelling. Masoud Fakhimi is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems and the program director for Business Analytics MSc at Surrey Business School, University of Surrey. He holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering, an MSc in Management, and a PhD in Computer Modelling & Simulation. His research interests include application of M&S techniques for sustainability analysis, healthcare simulation, sustainable operations management and green supply chain analytics.

Duncan Robertson joined the Management Science and Operations Group at Loughborough University in 2014.  Prior to that, he held posts at Warwick Business School (as Assistant Professor of Strategic Management), Manchester Business School, UEA London, Sun Yat-sen University in China, as well as holding a visiting post at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and teaching at London Business School.  He is a Fellow and Trustee of St Catherine’s College in the University of Oxford.

Before undertaking his DPhil at Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG working in the City of London, Australia, and New Zealand, where he specialized in advisory and corporate finance roles within the banking sector.  He originally trained as a physicist at Imperial College London.

Tom Boness is a software engineer at Operational Research in Health Limited (ORH), where he specialises in writing simulation models of emergency services and non-emergency patient transport providers. Since joining ORH in 2013 Tom has worked on a number of simulation models and other software tools used by ORH and its clients; these include the Royal Flying Doctor Service and New South Wales Ambulance in Australia, the London Ambulance Service in the UK, and British Colombia Emergency Health Services in Canada.

Tom holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from University College London. His fields of interest include discrete event and agent-based simulation, and pickup and delivery problems.

Lucy Morgan is a Development Lecturer in Simulation and Stochastic Modelling in the Department of Management Science, Lancaster University. Her research interests lie in the area of quantifying and reducing uncertainty in computer simulation. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, an MRes in Statistics and Operational Research and a PhD in Quantifying and Reducing Input Modelling Error in Simulation. Durk-Jouke van der Zee is an associate professor of Operations at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He received his MSc and PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He teaches in the areas of operations management and industrial engineering. His research interests include simulation methodology and applications, simulation & serious gaming, health care logistics, and manufacturing planning & control. He is and has been involved in many research projects in health care and manufacturing. Publications of his work can be found in leading OM/IE, health and health management journals. John Fowler is the Motorola Professor and former Chair of the Supply Chain Management department at Arizona State University. His research interests include discrete event simulation, deterministic scheduling, and multi-criteria decision making. He has published over 125 journal articles and over 100 conference papers. He was the Program Chair for the 2002 and 2008 Industrial Engineering Research Conferences and the 2008 Winter Simulation Conference (WSC). He was the founding Editor-in-Chief for of IIE Transactions on Healthcare Systems Engineering and continues as the Healthcare Operations Management department editor. He is also an Editor of the Journal of Simulation and Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), served as the IISE Vice President for Continuing Education, is a former INFORMS Vice President, and served on the WSC Board of Directors from 2005-2016.

Christina is currently training the next generation of analysts to think critically and provide sound intelligence for organisational decision making. Her research speciality is Human Centric Analytics (c) using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & design, Mathematics) to provide clarity to augment human work in a complex world.  She has a PhD in applying analytics and participative design in business, using tools from Operations Research, Decision and Management Science and is an erstwhile sculptor.
