“Playing Seriously” with Strategic Management: A Case Study Matching Role Playing and System Dynamics to Develop SCM Policies

Abstract

This work explores how role playing games may play a fundamental role in knowledge sharing and team learning, especially dealing with complex and dynamic business domains and facing strategic issues. When combined with a System Dynamics modelling intervention, this approach allows to support strategic thinking and learning in teams. Starting from the previous considerations, this work presents the main features and the outcomes of a specific case study.
