Welcome to the electronic edition of August’s issue of Inside O.R. This month’s cover links back to our first report from our one-day analytics seminar in June. Gearóid Madden of Accenture told the meeting how analytics was being used to improve the detection of fraudulent insurance claims. President-Elect, Stewart Robinson, continues the analytics theme in his leader article, and ponders why the academic community doesn’t seem to be engaging with analytics.
