Modelling the Northern Powerhouse - slides

Abstract

Transport for the North is the UKs first sub-national transport body with statutory powers to produce the long term plan for investment in the North to drive economic growth and help rebalance the UK economy. Its purpose is to transform the transport system across the North of England, providing the infrastructure needed to drive economic growth. TfN is a unique partnership, with elected and business leaders from all areas of Northern England uniting to work with central government and national transport bodies. TfN’s unique mission has required the development of new thinking, tools and approaches about the impact of transport on the economy of the North of England, and the wider impacts on skills, investment and innovation. In this talk we discuss how we model the interaction between transport systems and the economy, and how TfN approach to sharing data in the context of devolved and decentralised government.
