Advertising Regional Society Meetings

Wherever possible, you should give at least two months’ notice of a meeting otherwise you are likely to get a smaller turnout than the meeting deserves.

The OR Society Website

The Secretary should post details of the planned meeting(s) on the Regional Society’s website page under the ‘Upcoming Events’ section. To do so, you must create the event on Eventsforce and make sure your Regional Society’s box is ticked before making the event live.

Eventsforce

To create an Event in Eventsforce, follow the guidance provided in this document. This guidance document can also be found in the Docs & Files folder of RS and SIG’s Basecamp folder, titled ‘Eventsforce Guide’.

Emailing Members

You can also email Regional Society members directly, by completing an ‘Email Request Form’, which can also be found in the Docs & Files folder of RS and SIG’s Basecamp folder. Additional information must be sent to RSandSIGadmin [at] theorsociety.com.

InsideOR

Additionally, details of the meeting should be submitted to insideor [at] theorsociety.com (cc in your office point of contact) no later than the first of the month to be included in the next month’s issue of the magazine. For example, the deadline is 1 June for the July issue. The July issue is emailed to all members on 15 June. The printed copies are delivered the last week in June.

Additional

Other ways of promoting meetings include social media, encouraging members and speakers to tell colleagues, and contacting your own non-RS-member colleagues.
