The OR Society Undergraduate Award Guidelines

Universities/Programme Leaders are invited to register their institution/course with The OR Society for participation during the following academic year.

From each participating institution, the winner should be the student with the highest overall marks for that module from the OR projects submitted.

Students in any year of their undergraduate study can be considered (including final year dissertations). Individual institutions should identify which stage of study/module their OR project is embedded in at the point of registration.

The project must be the student’s own work from their current year of study and based on operational research, but can be of a practical/ theoretical/ historical/ educational style.

The winning student’s details and project abstract will need to be submitted to The OR Society by the institution and a full copy of a winning student’s project may be requested for verification by The OR Society before the prize is awarded.
