The Simpson Award

The Simpson Scholarships are designed to enable one or two outstanding ‘new’ operational researchers to attend The OR Society’s New to OR Conference and encourage them to present papers on their work in OR. The scholarship covers the conference fee and reimbursement of reasonable travel and subsistence costs incurred in attending the conference.

To be eligible, you must have been in OR for less than 10 years. This period needs to include at least two years of working experience, based in the United Kingdom, of Operational Research in industry, commerce, or government or a University teaching or research post. In the case of multiple authorship of a submitted paper, all authors must meet these conditions, although only one of the authors will receive the award.

The deadline is the 28th April. Submissions should be sent by email to the society’s Research & Publications Coordinator; email [email protected]
