Recently (May 2019) the UN’s AI For Good Global Summit in Geneva, highlighted AI applications as possible solutions to some of the problems associated with climate change. The theme that ran through this summit was, “while most countries aren’t cutting emissions nearly fast enough. AI could help speed things up”.

New to OR Needs You

The first regular Y2OR (now N2OR) appeared in the August 2013 issue and was, of course, written by Louise Maynard-Atem. Her last article under that banner appeared in the 2017 December issue. When Callum Staff took on the role in 2018, producing his first copy in the July issue, he said he would only do the job for one year. True to his conviction, his last article was published last month.
