Regional Societies

The OR Society supports a number of regional societies which have the status of branches of the national society. To enable members to network with other operational researchers in their area and to expand their knowledge in O.R., the various regional societies organise meetings, works visits and other events from time to time in most of the major centres of population in the UK. In the main these events are free and open to all, and members are encouraged to invite clients and others outside O.R. who have an interest in the subject. Details of regional society activities can be found in this section and in Inside O.R..

There are currently regional societies in the following areas:

We have guidance for Regional Society committees.

Regional Societies - Presentations

Do You Want to Give a LASEORS Presentation?

The London and South East OR Society is keen to hear from anyone who is interested in giving a presentation which would be of interest to O.R. professionals in our area.

LASEORS are happy to hold talks from any specialism within the O.R. field, indeed we like to include as many aspects of the profession as possible. Suitable topics include:

  • case studies featuring OR techniques (in any area e.g. industry, finance, government etc);
  • demonstrations of new techniques;
  • summaries of research projects;
  • issues in the management and career development of OR professionals.
Presentations are usually held in Central London on weekday evenings. They normally start at 6.30 p.m. and last about an hour.

If you are interested in giving a presentation, please contact London & South East.
