Following the success of OR62 and the due to the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, OR63 will take place online in September 2021. Keep an eye out for more information over the coming months.

This year's highlights

OR62 Online saw more than 700 operational research and analytics professionals around the world come together for a week of discussion and insight.

The 2020 programme included a multitude of speaker presentations from sector leaders, a roundtable from the OR Society’s Women in OR and Analytics Network, and even a virtual pub quiz.

The Presidents Medal 

Every year the President's Medal is awarded for the best practical application of OR submitted to the competition. This year's winner is Jordan Low from the Dept of Transport, who gave a presentation on 'Creating new population movement insight to shape the UK Government’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic

Grand Challenge | Making an Impact 

Miles Weaver's Grand Challenge asked delegates to structure, analyse and respond to the challenge of how to build back better in a post-COVID 19 world. The feasibility of each action will be considered as a potential Pro Bono project, research funding bids, consultancy projects and/or student projects.

Early career researchers event

OR62 Online saw the launch of the Early Career Researchers Network, aimed at those working in academia with under five years' experience. The event was a success and will be back on the schedule next year at OR63.
