Global Challenges

This stream welcomes a variety of Operational Research (OR) applications to global challenges of our time. We focus on critical issues that span the globe such as climate change, food scarcity, global pandemics, energy crisis, etc. These problems require responsible solutions to achieve economic, environmental, and social sustainability, therefore improving people’s lives around the world. OR tools and approaches (e.g., optimisation, simulation, stakeholder involvement, systems thinking) are paramount in offering structured methods to tackle these grand challenges arising in the real world.
