OR and Net Zero

Reaching Net Zero has already been a global effort. More than 70 countries have set net-zero targets, covering nearly 80% of global emissions. While the commitments made by governments to date fall far short of what is required. Transitioning to a net-zero system requires addressing a range of issues, such as ensuring stable and affordable energy supplies, providing universal energy access, and enabling robust economic growth. Operational research can play a crucial role in managing these challenges, by identifying risks and the most efficient ways to address them, optimising systems, making informed decisions and so on.

This stream invites researchers working on the use and design of operational research methods to tackle Net Zero issues. It will provide a forum for both academics and practitioners to present thoughts, contributions, and examples to explore OR in Net Zero.
