Process mapping of monitoring and evaluation at Doorway

Project summary

Develop a process map of the current monitoring and evaluation activities of Doorway. The process map would enable identification of improvements that would lead to better quality and more efficient monitoring and evaluation of the charity’s impact.

How will this project benefit the organisation?  

Understanding and suggesting improvements for the monitoring and evaluation process would enable the charity to:

• Understand what the young people the charity serves think could work better and what the charity can change
• Motivate the charity’s teams to see the difference their work makes to young people and improve staff morale
• Report on impact in their Annual Report
• Contribute to funders reports and grant applications
• Inform audits and quarterly quality meetings.

Client description

Doorway supports homeless young people with advice, accommodation options, support and life skills development.

Project description

The volunteer would work with the charity’s senior leadership staff, volunteers and clients (young people) to develop a process map of the current monitoring and evaluation processes.

The second stage would be to identify process improvements such as how and what data is collected, how the data is analysed and what is reported.

Location

The volunteer would need to spend about 1 day at the office location in Nuneaton. The remainder of the work could be done remotely.
