Project summary

The Odyssean Institute wishes to review its strategy, to improve its planning, resilience and outcomes.

How will this project benefit the organisation?

The Odyssean Institute wants to be confident that it is making the best use of its resources to deliver its goals, and a fundamental part of that is confidence in its strategic plan.

The recommendations of the volunteer will give the charity’s leadership and volunteers a clear view of how they will proceed beyond the current projects, or of what they need to do to achieve that clear view; and will have confidence in the resilience of this plan, or clarity on what they need to do to achieve resilience.

Project description

The Odyssean Institute is a young charity with huge aspirations. After a year or so of operations, it would like to review its strategy: what are the intended 3-5 year outcomes, what would success criteria look like, what are the activities that could achieve these outcomes, and how does it all hang together with resources and operations.

The volunteer will not be expected to do the research into activities, options, etc, but to work with the current volunteer and staff team to articulate what they are trying to achieve, and success criteria; explore issues, risks, options, and resource constraints; and make recommendations on whether the current strategy is suitable and what improvements might be suggested.

The volunteer should be experienced in preparing, facilitating and documenting strategy workshops. They may find the Structured Debrief Approach helpful.
