North East OR Group (NEORG) / ANNE


Analyst Network North East (ANNE) is a network where analysts from the academic, public & private sector can connect & exchange ideas on analysis (quantitative and qualitative).

Our network is for anyone with an interest in quantitative & qualitative analysis happening in North East England. Members include: Business and Financial Analysts, Statisticians, Data Scientists, Modelling Analysts, Economists, STEM students, Operational and Social Researchers.

ANNE Events

We hold three events each year, held at locations in the North East of England. Events are free to attend and a CPD opportunity. 

ANNE Mentoring

We facilitate the matching of people who want to learn from each other through our mentoring scheme.

ANNE Education

Through our outreach work, we promote the study of STEM subjects to encourage people to pursue STEM careers.

We are the North Eastern Regional Group of The OR Society (NEORG). In addition to The OR Society, we are sponsored by the NAO, Newcastle University, Durham University Business School, the DWP and the VOA.

We at Analyst Network North East are delighted to invite you to the Autumn Conference. This November we will be exploring career journeys from practicing analysts in the region and presenting a range of technical talks including the use of artificial intelligence.

12:30 – 13:00 - Registration.

13:00 – 13:10 - Welcome and introductions.

13:10 – 14:40 - Career journey talks followed by a panel Q&A with:

  • Jim Butler, Heather Thompson and Libbie Read - Generating analytical talent through the Care Quality Commission (CQC) graduate scheme.
  • Rob Robson - Developing the Analyst: Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts (AphA) as a conduit.
  • Chris Sparks - You don't need to know everything to be useful.

14:40 - 15:40 - Tea and coffee break with opportunities to network with ANNE colleagues and interact with a topic discussion.

15:40 – 16:20 - A framework for model assurance - Hannah Kreczak, Analyst, National Audit Office.

16:20 – 17:00 - An end-to-end Machine Learning pipeline in Databricks - Antonia Kontaratou, Data Scientist, National Innovation Centre for Data.

17:00 - Thank you, close and social at The Town Wall.
