Project summary

Paths for All want an automated reporting system to visualise progress, demonstrate impact and free up staff time for more meaningful activities.

How will this project benefit the organisation?

An automated reporting system will make it easier for the organisation to demonstrate the impact of their work, which will strengthen their case for future funding, and enable them to do more with their available resources.

Paths for All would consider the project a success if all teams could access the data they need easily and reporting was straightforward and stress free.

Project description

Currently Paths for All holds data in several different systems, with the result that it takes considerable time to collect the information needed for reporting, or any other wider uses.

This project is fairly open-ended in that there are two aspects and the volunteer(s) could agree with the client whether to concentrate on one or both:

  • designing a system to pull together the data required for reporting
  • developing a template for improved future reports (that could include a dashboard) for discussion with the Board.

The volunteer(s) would need to work closely with the Information & Data Monitoring Officer in order to discover and examine the various data sources, the current reporting systems, the processes currently used to produce reports, potential improvements to the current reporting system.

The volunteer(s) should have skills in database design, reporting systems including dashboard design. This project could be carried out by two volunteers, each concentrating on a different aspect.
