Abstract

This month’s cover article looks at the maths behind toppling dominos. The force you apply to tip the first one is multiplied to staggering proportions as the chain reaction moves forward. In his leader article, Stewart Robinson proudly admits that he’s finally got around to it – becoming a Fellow of the OR Society that is. He’s also had a chance to look at INFORMS’ new analytics certification scheme and is pleased to find the UK provides strong learning for its students in the key domains.
