Abstract

In this .pdf file you will find the complete text and figures of the manual that was produced in 2002 for the last published version of the Strategic Adviser [STRAD] software for the support of strategic decision processes. The design of STRAD is closely modelled on the Strategic Choice Approach as described in the book Planning under Pressure, the third English language edition of which was published in 2005. STRAD 2.3 is designed for systems running under 16-bit versions of MS Windows up to Vista. Because of the retirement of John Friend, whose son Dave worked with him in designing this and earlier versions, it has not yet been possible to adapt the software to more recent versions of Windows. However it is planned to transfer the Intellectual Property Rights to a new developer without charge as soon as an academic hub has been formed to take over the future development of the wider approach and guide the design of future software products in association with the global community of users. .
