New to OR 2019

Less than Ten Years in OR? Here’s your custom-made conference.

‘New to OR’ is a biennial conference purposely designed to relate not to age, but to experience – your experience! This is the conference for academics and practitioners whose careers in operational research span 10 years or fewer.

Here are five good reasons why delegates attended to present a paper or run a stream:

  • Streams included Analytics, AI, Big Data, Sustainability in OR and a range of more conventional hard OR and soft OR methods. Application-oriented presentations and case studies in areas such as health and defence are also welcomed.
  • Promote their skills and organisation – give a case study presentation. Discuss recent projects with those who use OR techniques in practice.
  • Expand their OR toolkit – learn new techniques for career development.
  • Improve their OR network – meet like-minded professionals in a perfect environment.
  • To be inspired – make links between techniques and applications and apply them to their everyday work!
