OR63: Forecasting

Forecasting is at the heart of decision making in Operational Research. It forms the basis for planning and control activities, from the strategic to the operational level.

It drives decision making on products and services, and is a critical input to finance, marketing, logistics and production, across sectors from business to government.

As a research discipline, it therefore crosses multiple fields of research, drawing on mathematics, management, information sciences, behavioural sciences, social sciences, engineering, and other fields.

This stream attempts to sample the plethora of methodological approaches and application areas, relevant from both an academic and a practitioner perspective.

We're now looking for OR professionals, data scientists, professors, researchers, analysts, engineers, etc., to present at this event. Submit your 300-word presentation summary on maritime shipping by the 11th of June to join our expert OR63 speakers!
