How to reinvigorate or terminate a moribund SIG or Network

Where a SIG or Network has gone through a two year cycle with no activity, members other than the Officers may take action to reinvigorate the SIG or Network.  Such action may include:

  1. Replacing the current Chair (to be enacted by the Secretary & General Manager after reference to the Board of The OR Society)
  2. Polling the existing membership (via the extant email distribution list) to establish reasons for morbidity
  3. Going through the steps for creating a new Special Interest Group or Network

If there is no perceived desire to resurrect the SIG or Network it will be terminated following review by the Events Committee. Once terminated, the SIG or Network’s history will be archived on the society’s website.
