Journal of Business Analytics - new award name nominations

Our scholarly journals have an award for the best paper. For the Journal of Operational Research (Goodeve Award) and European Journal of Information Systems (Stafford Beer Award), this is an annual award. For Knowledge Management Research and Practice (Cook Award) Health Systems (Griffiths Award) and Journal of Simulation (Toucher Award), this is bi-annual. Each journal award is named in honour of a member of the OR Community who has made a significant contribution to Operational Research. Their work is reflected in the aims of that journal’s papers. I am pleased to announce that we are now planning to create a bi-annual award for the Society's newest journal, the Journal of Business Analysis (JBA), and we would like you to help in naming the award.

The person you nominate does not have to be an OR Society Member, but they do have to have made a significant contribution to the OR Community. For those of you not so familiar with the Journal of Business Analytics, the journal's key aim is to show how analytics can solve real-world problems using real data. In the same vein as OR, business analytics seeks to enable organisations to make timely and accurate decisions, to survive, innovate, and grow their business. The journal focuses on the full spectrum of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics and computational experiments to solve seemingly unsolvable real-world problems.

Your nominations should include the person’s full name and a short statement supporting your nomination. Please submit your nominations to the Research and Publications Officer carol.mclaughlin@theorsociety by 31 August 2020
